Managing Director / CEO – (Mining / Engineering / Construction) – South Africa
Overview:
CA Global: Mining-Engineering’s client: a newly established joint venture between three existing engineering and design companies, with extensive experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, is looking for a GM/CEO to head up the new venture in the Mining and Mineral Project Sector. To be based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Duties:
- The establishment of the company and brand in the marketplace;
- Providing strategic guidance;
- Draw on the extensive experience and track record of the three constituent companies.
- The initial role will include a large sales and business development component with the aim of securing high value contracts within the first one to two years of operation.
- As the company grows the role will become increasingly operational. You will however still be required to act as the company’s public face.
- Responsible for meeting agreed turnover and performance targets.
- Travel to project sites in Africa (only should the need arise).

Experience:
The following experience will be beneficial to the potential candidate:
- Minimum 15 years experience in the Mining industry.
- Must have Mining EPC/M experience. Consultancy experience will be an advantage.
- An established network of contacts in the mining and mineral project sector in Africa.
- A track record of leading successful teams in the design and execution of projects and ventures in the Mining and Mineral Project sector.
- Marketing, business development and preparation of bid documentation and proposals.

Qualifications:
- B. Engineering/B.Sc Engineering (or equivalent) qualification.
- MBA or similar management qualification will be an advantage.
Remuneration:
Negotiable based on experience and skills.
The ability to speak French is advantageous.
